When to go

“The Sunshine State”, better known as Florida, is one of the premier travel destinations for those seeking out travel deals to get away from colder climates. Top travel deals are generally abundant for those who search the different travel sites to find cheap hotels and cheap flights to Florida, and the rewards of finding such cheap airline tickets and great travel deals can be worth more than the money saved. Florida is traditionally a vacation spot for those who love endless beaches and the party-like atmosphere, as well as the rich, diverse culture and history provided by the numerous cultures that have made their home in this southeastern state. Picking up a Florida travel guide is an absolute must and the best way to ensure that you will not miss some of the most impressive attractions, which are not necessarily all located in Miami or Orlando.

While some of the biggest tourist attractions listed in the travel guide might be near these two cities, there are also many other reasons why travelers look for cheap flights to Florida and cheap hotels to use as a home base during their vacation. From alligator farms and swamp tours, to pristine, sandy beaches, travel deals to Florida offer travelers the opportunity to enjoy a vast array of diverse attractions that keep folks booking airline tickets to Florida for repeat trips with great travel deals year after year.

Room rates in most of the hotels double during the high season, which occurs from mid-December through mid-April. This makes finding cheap hotel deals more challenging. Cheap flights to Florida are also hard to come by during this time, but with a little effort travelers can still find good travel deals, including cheap hotels and affordable Florida airline tickets. Of course, one of the best ways to find cheap flights to Florida and cheap hotels is to plan ahead and travel during the off season, when rates are lower and travel deals are abundant. Generally, if you dont mind the humidity, June through September is the time when youll find the deepest discounts on travel packages and cheap flights to Florida. However, this time period – which often offers the best travel deals – is also hurricane season, so it pays to keep an eye on the weather conditions when choosing when to book Florida airline tickets.

Where to stay

Cheap hotels can be fun, but "magic" is better, and one of the most magical places to stay in Florida is Orlando. One of the best hotels in this city is the JW Marriott Orlando, 4040 Central Florida Pkwy. This Spanish-style hotel is located near all of the fun places that Orlando is known for: Seaworld, Disney World and Busch Gardens. Miami offers the flavors and party atmosphere that make it a unique destination in all of the state. The Mandarin Oriental Hotel, 500 Brickell Key Dr, offers luxury and a prime location near endless beaches. The romance of Key West is captured at the Washington Street Inn, 807 Washington Street, which is tucked away in lush tropical surroundings. After youve taken the time to enjoy the relaxing atmosphere youll have many choices of activities, which might include a walk on the beach just two blocks away or a shopping trip to Duval Street which features nearly anything you might want to buy.

What to do

Most people consider the premier destination in Florida to be the Magic Kingdom. This magical universe imagined and created by Walt Disney remains one of the best spots for families to experience childhood again. Speaking of children; many dream of becoming an astronaut. While not everyone can achieve this dream, a visit to Cape Canaveral and the Kennedy Space Center can be the experience of a lifetime. Not only is it possible to time your trip so that you can watch a shuttle launch, you can also experience what its like to be an astronaut at the Astronaut Training Experience. If youre looking for discount travel options, spend a day at one of the many Florida beaches. South Beach, Palm Beach, Daytona Beach, Miami Beach and many other beaches along the coast offer a sun-drenched respite from the stress of everyday life. So, take a book, an umbrella and some SPF 90 sunscreen and enjoy a day of relaxation.

Where to eat

If you want to find cheap, but good eats, Café Annie, 131 N. Orange Ave #102, Orlando, is the place to be. The food is incredibly fresh and if you enjoy Greek cuisine the Gyro platter is to die for. When you think of Florida cuisine, German fare rarely comes to mind. However, the Old Germany Restaurant, 2054 N. Semoran Blvd, Winter Park, is a gem that lovers of authentic German cuisine wont want to miss. Florida, specifically Miami, is known worldwide for its authentic Cuban cuisine. The Little Havana Restaurant, 12727 Biscayne Blvd, North Miami, provides a spicy taste of Cuba with a menu that is laden with authentic items such as plantain soup, tamales, fabada and ropa vieja. The service can be somewhat slow at times due to the fact that this restaurant is incredibly busy. The food, however, makes it worth the slight inconvenience.

Daytona 500

Daytona beach offers the thrill of the Daytona 500 as well as numerous other races throughout the year, but one of the most fun things to do is take a drive down this stretch of coastland during spring break festivities when the sun is hot and the visitors are even hotter.
